Welcome to Bonelli’s Gîte Holiday House – Flexible luxury accommodation for 4-6 (larger groups possible)

This birder friendly accommodation is hidden in the limestone countryside and vineyards of the Minervois, on the edge of the Haut-Languedoc Parc Naturel. Our domain is in a biodiversity hotspot and home to endangered species including the Bonelli’s, Golden and Short-toed eagles, Eagle owls, Genets, Ocellated lizards, orchids, and a host of other wildlife.

Sitting by the pool in spring you will be serenaded by nightingales. Take a stroll in the evening, and you may hear Eagle owl whilst watching Scops and Little owl dive-bombing the local cats. Nightjars nest in the garrigue below us and can be heard chirring through the night. It’s a birdwatching and nature lover’s paradise with access to mountain, marshland and coastal habitats. Yet, this haven of tranquility is only minutes’ drive from local markets, award winning restaurants, and wineries, and the historic town of Minerve and the Canal du Midi (world heritage site). The larger historic towns of Narbonne (Mediterranean beaches) and Carcassonne are an hour from the house.

Let us know if you want help to arrange guided birdwatching and nature tours, horse riding, kayaking, boating on the Canal du Midi, or if you want to hire bicycles. We can also recommend restaurants, wineries, and the best places to walk, and cycle.

The recently restored stone built winery offers flexible luxury accommodation for 4 to 6 people (contact us for larger groups – and we can recommend additional accommodation very close by). The house has two air-conditioned bedrooms and features a well-equipped semi-subterranean kitchen, sitting room with TV & DVD, music center and Satellite internet and a lovely bathroom. It also has access to its own heated swimming pool with a BBQ and outdoor eating area in the garden opposite the house. Additional bed space for 1 to 2 people is available (at a fee) in our genuine 1950’s bow top gypsy caravan.
