Day trip programme for Spring / Summer 2023

Scroll down for our day trip programme and sign-up form.
If you are not resident in the Languedoc, and travelling from further afield,
you might want to combine one or more day trips with a longer stay in the area.
See our selection of birder-friendly accommodation in the DIY Birding section.

You can also see the programme on the calendar page

Day trip format: Our day trips are run in English and guided by a local ornithologist.
We generally start at 8h – 8h30 and stop around 16h30. Where possible we stop at a café mid to late morning, and where no café is available we will let you know so that you can bring your own flask of tea/coffee (and bushes will have to suffice!). Everyone brings their own picnic lunch.

COVID: Who knows where we are heading! But if there are any restrictions or limits on numbers, places will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis! Masks may be required when carpooling and when using other peoples spotting scopes.

Programme and sign-up form
You can access a calendar view of the programme here:  From this you can also copy events directly to your own calendar.
Follow changes / updates by subscribing to the Day trip calendar here:

Please complete and submit the form (see link below) by selecting the number in your group from the drop down menu for each day trip you would like to attend. Places will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis.

If you do NOT hear back about being on a waiting list, that means that your places are confirmed. No news is good news 🙂

You can come back to this page and add bookings at any time during the season, but there is a good chance that they will fill up quite quickly again this year!

**After a high number of late cancellations last year, please think carefully about your bookings and consider these a commitment – only cancelling if really unavoidable.** Thank you 🙂

Once you have submitted the form, please let us know asap if you cannot attend, as this may allow someone else to join in!

** N.B. Please note that these trips are not suitable for complete beginners. Children over 15 who are keen birders are welcome to join if accompanied by a parent! And sadly we cannot allow dogs – sorry but it’s just too complicated to manage!**

Contribution to costs:TBA

What to wear/bring:
We recommend walking shoes/boots and bringing a wind-proof/showerproof jacket, water, hat and sun protection as appropriate!
And of course don’t forget your binoculars and a picnic 🙂

See you soon for one of our fun day trips – we can guarantee you’ll see more birds with us 😉
